The Project Brief

Image Technique was tasked with an exciting and unique project at the renowned StoneX Stadium, home to the Saracens rugby team. Under the instruction of Raynor Rowan, the main contractor, we were commissioned to design, manufacture, and install illuminated stadia signage for both the West Stand and the stadium’s lower level. This included high-level face-illuminated signage for the West Stand and additional illuminated branding for Saracens and their partners at ground level. The goal was to enhance the visibility of the stadium’s key branding elements while upholding the prestige of this iconic venue.

The Challenge

This project posed several significant challenges, particularly the installation of high-level signage on the West Stand, which required complex crane lifts and large access equipment. The precision needed to install large-scale, illuminated signage at such a height made this project a true test of technical skill. Additionally, ensuring the signage was visible from all angles while maintaining brand integrity was essential. The weather conditions, along with the logistics of working in a fully operational stadium, further added to the complexity, requiring careful coordination and planning to avoid disruption.

Image Technique’s team worked closely with Raynor Rowan to develop a comprehensive solution that met the project's specific requirements. Our design and manufacturing teams created bespoke, face-illuminated signage for the West Stand, ensuring that it captured attention while fitting seamlessly into the stadium’s architectural design.

For the installation, we coordinated crane lifts and deployed specialized access equipment to ensure the signage was positioned precisely at height. Our team also installed illuminated signage at the lower levels, representing Saracens and their partners with high visibility and brand clarity. Throughout the process, we adhered to stringent safety measures and carefully scheduled work to minimize any disruptions to the stadium’s operations.

Outcomes

The project was completed to the highest standards, with the illuminated signage now a prominent feature of StoneX Stadium. The West Stand signage is clearly visible from a distance, reinforcing the stadium’s identity, while the lower-level branding enhances the overall spectator experience. The installation was carried out efficiently, despite the logistical challenges, and the signage met all brand and aesthetic requirements.
